Petite interview d'une personne bourrée de talents !! qui par ailleurs connait Jack Zerby !! Donc venez découvrir Jack Zerby à travers un nouveau regard...
( je mettrais peut être la traduction plus tard si vous me la demandez )
1/ Could you present you??[/i]
My name is Dave Werner, and I work for a creative company in San Francisco, California. I enjoy anything creative, from filming to writing to performing music.
2/ How long do you know Jack??
I've known Jack for about three years now. We first met when I was an intern for his team at New York design firm called Pentagram. I later moved up to New York for another company, frog design, and was happy to learn that Jack would be starting work there shortly after I did. We got to know each other better then, and luckily we also were able to work on a couple more projects together, which definitely always made things much more fun. Now we still keep in touch every once in a while via email and websites / YouTube.
3/ Have you already played with Jack?? (and if it's no, what do you want do it in the future??)[/i]
Unfortunately, we never got the chance to play together. But Jack used to bring his guitar to the office at frog, and sometimes I'd join and sing along in an empty conference room. Jack is a much more talented musician than me, so if we ever did play together I'd probably just be trying to catch up with him ! But sure, if the opportunity to play together ever came up one day, I'd definitely be all for it. Sadly I've moved so far away now that it doesn't seem very convenient anymore.
4/ In 5 words, can you define Jack??[/i]
Passionate. Creative. Positive. Talented. Awesome.
5/ For you, what is the principal quality of Jack??
Jack's principal quality is his constant search for knowledge and self-improvement. He is always learning about and trying out new things, and the results are always more and more amazing. Music is just one pursuit of many that he is continually growing in - he is very much in the vein of what one might call a modern day renaissance man. That devotion to making himself a more diverse, well-rounded person is quite admirable.
6/ And his lack?? lol
His foosball skills are a little lacking, at least during last time I played with him; I'm sure he's improved now. He is also a brutally honest food critic, as he pointed out with analyzing my lunch and morning hot chocolate and chocolate doughnuts.
7/ What is your best moment with Jack? can you relate it??
During one project in New York, Jack and I were working off-site at this large building, helping develop some animations for a large display wall. Although the work was sometimes frustrating and difficult to wrap our heads around, it was in good company. We would raid their food court and take all the free food we could find, and I often stuffed my backpack full of extra stuff for my friends back at the office. Rice Krispie Treats especially. Jack would also sometimes vocalize his frustrations with the development tools in pretty funny ways, and the developers we were working with were often sitting right behind him.
8/ What do you think about Jack's music? What is your favourite song??
Jack's music is great ; the passion he puts into his songwriting is readily apparent through his work. "Said" is the first one I ever heard and is probably my all-time favorite, although lately I've liked " Accapella" due to the recent video he put up on YouTube - I had it stuck in my head for several weeks, especially the chorus and that break-down part in the middle.
9/ To conclude, can you say something to Jack??
"Dragons equals no, and keep it gangsta." He knows what that means.
10/ And can you say something to the French concerning Jack, Jack's music??...
I think it's great that someone from the other side of the ocean, several thousand miles away, can be entertained and inspired with music like Jack's. Technology would not have allowed us to do this fifteen years ago. Music really is the universal language, and can connect with us in unique ways no matter where we come from. Il est tres difficule du trouve la bonne musique, mais Jack joue la guitare et chanter avec beaucoup de passion.
THANKS DAVE!!
